Terms of Service

This page outlines the rules, regulations, and terms for playing on Eir Eventyr RO.

Proof and reports should be submitted via our Discord ticket system.

Table of Contents

1. General rules

1.1 Definitions

Player: a physical person playing on Eir Eventyr
Staff: Volunteers who officially fulfill the mission for Eir Eventyr given by the administrator
Master Account: An account created on the website which permits you to create game accounts to connect into the server
Game Account: An account to connect to the game itself which hosts your characters; once you are connected on the website with your master account, you can create or link up to 3 Game Accounts.
Linked Account: Each game account we can link to another Game Account one way or another.

Examples:
1) Two players use the same connection (same IP).
2) If player A shares one game account with player B and another Game Account with player C, each game account of players A, B, and C may be considered linked together.

1.2 Proof

  • A recording done with the client record tool (.rrf in Replay folder). To learn how to record and watch replays, please refer to the guide: Replay guide (Discord).
  • To prove you have sent a message, please use the “mail” system, include a screenshot and the date (date hour minute), so that we can check logs if someone contests it.
  • To prove a message has been sent in the chat, take a screenshot and provide the date (date hour minute).

In order to protect the privacy of reporters and to avoid harassment, proof submitted to staff will remain confidential. During a ban appeal, we will refuse requests or demands to provide such proof that come from another party.

1.3 False Reporting

Threatening the reporting of another player or a group of players to “bully” them into doing something is not allowed. Similarly, trying to intentionally frame someone for breaking the rules when they haven’t done something wrong is not allowed. Proof alteration is also not allowed and weaponizing the rules system may be met with the loss of the privilege to create tickets.

1.4 Baiting

Two wrongs do not make a right. If someone does something to you, it does not make it right to do something bad back. Record your side whenever possible and report misconduct rather than engaging in it.

Intentionally goading other players into breaking rules (taunting, daring them, following with a train of mobs to entice stealing, blocking tight corridors, etc.) is considered baiting/griefing.

More on replays: Discord guide.

1.5 Relations Between Players and Staff

Please understand our GMs and CMs are human beings who mainly act as volunteers. Treat them with respect. Staff gets no in-game or monetary compensation. As players, they are equal to others and must be respected. Report any infringement to preserve staff integrity.

Respectful disagreement is acceptable; threats, slander, or inciting harassment may result in punishment. Staff will never ask for your password or private info, and will not offer items/zeny. Recruitment is announced openly in Discord. Report impersonation/scams.

1.6 Sanctions

Default punishments apply per infringement. Staff may adjust based on context. Serious or repeated infractions can result in permanent suspension from all platforms.

2. Accounts and Multi-clienting

2.1 One Player, One Master Account

Each player may create one Master Account. Temporary emails are forbidden; use a well-known, accessible domain. Do not share Master Account access. Multiple players can play from the same IP, but each must have a unique Master Account; such accounts may be treated as linked.

2.2 Multi-clienting: One Player, One Client Open

Multi-clienting is strictly forbidden. If it looks, behaves, and benefits like multi-clienting, we will rule it as such.

Examples of violations include (not exhaustive):

  • Connecting a second character to transfer items;
  • Buffing another character;
  • Abusing autovend to leech or buff a character;
  • Assuming semi‑AFK gameplay on a linked account.

Semi‑AFK activity on linked accounts may be considered multi‑clienting (e.g., buffing then going AFK, timed Bard/Dancer refreshes, leeching). Please be active or disconnect.

Exception: Assigning guild leader to an autovend character for passive guild auras is tolerated.

2.3 One Player, Three Game Accounts

You may have up to three Game Accounts linked to your Master Account. This allows two merchants vending via @autotrade while you play on another account.

2.4 Account Sharing

Account sharing and ownership transfers are strictly forbidden.

ONE additional (4th) account is permitted only to access a guild account, regardless of whether you reached three personal accounts.

2.5 The Only Fourth Account, The Guild Account

Guilds of at least three different players may create one guild account with prefix guild_ (e.g., guild_unicorn). Only two characters are allowed (brewer + forger). The leader controls access and bears responsibility. Staff is not responsible for losses.

Switching to another guild’s account requires informing the previous owner and staff authorization. Guild accounts are linked accounts; semi‑AFK gameplay is prohibited on shared accounts.

2.6 Guest Accounts

“Guest Accounts” allow loaning characters safely without exposing your main credentials or items/zeny. However, breaking rules on a Guest Account also punishes all accounts under that Master Account. Linked account rules apply.

Borrowers must have an active Payon Stories Master Account. Loaning to suspended users or outsiders to evade rules can lead to permanent suspension.

Multiple Game Accounts under the same Master Account may be logged in simultaneously only via the Guest Account system.

2.7 Sanction

Violations lead to bans on involved accounts. Accessing a different guild account without notifying both the owner and staff revokes guild-account privileges. Creating a Master Account signifies acceptance of these rules; breaking them may suspend/remove access temporarily or permanently.

3. Cheating

3.1 Macros and Third-Party programs

Automation tools (autohotkey, macros, bots) are strictly prohibited. Players must answer staff in English when prompted. Some QoL commands may exist for brewing/crafting/forging; no macros allowed.

External programs should not interact with the game (recorders or runtime shims like Wine/dgVoodoo are OK). Request permission for any other tool.

Exception: We only allow 4RTools autohotkey. Details on setup are available in our Discord #server-info channel.

3.2 GRF and Modified Clients

Use only our provided client. Do not modify client/GRF files to change gameplay. Suggest GRF/client improvements to staff for server‑wide review.

You may modify music (not sounds), use staff‑provided alternative GRFs, change Bard/Dancer “Frost Joke/Scream” text (no harassment), use UI skins and Homunculus AIs that do not automate actions.

GRF edits for Bard/Dancer text may trigger anti‑cheat; we strongly advise against it.

3.3 Exploits

Exploiting/abusing bugs is prohibited. Report bugs promptly. Tolerated quirks include: cell glitching (not to overtake vending/chat spots), icewall trap tricks, animation cancel, teleporting to avoid damage.

3.4 Sanction

Cheating/exploits can result in permanent bans, regardless of severity.

4. Market Regulations

4.1 Vending Spots and Chat Rooms

Do not set up shops on main roads. Keep 3 cells from NPCs and 2 cells from other shops/chats. Glitching onto occupied spots to preempt a vendor is prohibited.

4.2 Overpricing and Item Misrepresentation

Free pricing is allowed, but intentionally overpricing NPC‑sold items or misrepresenting items (e.g., unslotted as slotted) is forbidden.

4.3 Scamming

Deceit to cheat others (false representations, accomplices, schemes) is punishable. Indirect trades (borrowing, promises) are at your own risk. Agreements between players are generally not enforceable, but staff may review with sufficient evidence, timeliness, and at staff discretion.

4.4 Spot Reservation

Autovend lasts up to 72 hours unless interrupted or out of stock. Intentionally overpricing a common item to hold a spot is forbidden and punishable.

4.5 Real Money Trading

RMT of any kind (items/currency/accounts/services) is strictly prohibited. Trading anything off‑server for on‑server value is RMT. Advertisers receive permanent IP bans.

4.6 Sanctions

Minor vending/chat violations may suspend only the vending account. Repeated offenses or scams may escalate to master‑account suspensions. RMT/advertising is a permanent ban on all current/future accounts.

5. Communication

5.1 General Communication Rule

Be civil in‑game and on Discord. Use English in public channels. No harassment, spam, baiting, provocation, or insults. Gentle teasing may be tolerated if the target agrees. Avoid other‑server ads.

Prohibited content includes: indecent/sexual remarks, racism, sexism, homophobia, death threats, advocating violence/hate, incitement to suicide or drug use.

Use /ex <name> or /exall to block harassers; if they circumvent blocks, report with screenshots and dates.

5.2 Impersonating Staff

Names implying staff (e.g., CM/GM prefixes) or designed to look like staff are an immediate permanent suspension.

5.3 Names

Names for characters/guilds/parties/pets must follow communication rules. No name ownership. Names used to impersonate/tarnish others may be forcibly changed. Names are first‑come‑first‑serve; requests to free inactive names are generally denied.

5.4 Harassment and Slandering

Harassment includes repeated griefing, following, or derogatory reactions; slandering spreads false rumors and incites harassment. Do not retaliate; report instead. Severe cases may result in suspensions for all involved.

5.5 Sanctions

Penalties range from warnings/mutes to account suspensions, depending on severity/frequency. Be respectful—Payon Stories is a social server.

6. Gameplay Rules

6.1 Griefing

Use skills to benefit players and defeat mobs. Using skills to harass (e.g., trapping with Ice Wall, buffing mobs to prevent combat) can be punished. PvP areas are exempt.

6.2 Mobbing and Mob Griefing

Mobbing is allowed, but monopolizing maps or holding mobs without intent to kill is punishable. Do not gather mobs near others to kill/bother them (includes Dead Branch use).

6.3 Kill Stealing

Attacking monsters already chasing/fighting another player is prohibited (includes mini‑bosses). If aggro is lost, ownership is lost. Placing yourself to shift aggro intentionally is also prohibited. Using @noks aids protection but does not solely determine ownership.

6.4 Loot Stealing

Loot belongs to the killer during the protection timer. Purposely bringing a looter or obstructing loot collection is not allowed.

6.5 MVP Exception

MVPs are free‑for‑all. Loot priority favors the highest damage. It remains PvM—griefing rules apply. Do not prevent others from reaching/fighting or seeing MVP tombs. Teleport‑based strategies are allowed if they don’t harm others.

6.6 MVP Rules

  • No blocking MVPs with Ice Wall to prevent competition from doing damage/reaching MVP/loot.
  • No trapping players with Warp Portal.
  • No direct griefing (e.g., healing MVP to hinder others) except legitimate interactions (Heal vs Undead, land skill counters).
  • No land‑skill griefing to prevent others from using their skills.
  • General griefing rules apply (no mob‑dropping, dead branches, etc.).

Boss aggro/slaves can be taken/kited/dropped by anyone engaging, but intentional sabotage of a party’s position to force dangerous MVP skills is not allowed.

Stalling (running MVP while your team arrives) is permitted if (1) your team is present/on the way (≈1–2 minutes) and (2) your team can realistically kill the MVP.

6.7 Sanctions

Failure to respect shared resources can lead to punishments from a day to permanent bans for repeated offenses.

7. The Spirit of the Rules

The rules cannot cover every scenario. Their purpose is to keep play fair and fun. Staff may act on violations of the intent of the rules even if not explicitly listed, to prevent loophole abuse. If unsure, open a ticket for clarification.
